Big Beverage Selection

Expert baristas serve sustainably sourced coffee in delectable ways all made to order. They buzz behind the counter with military precision fussing over the little details that make a cup of coffee big on taste. Try the bird friendly certified house blend, a Sparrow Café special feature.

While coffee drinks rule the roust, many other tempting beverages fill the menu. How about hot chocolate? Indulge in rich dairy white chocolate instead of the traditional dark. Want something lighter? Cold shrub drinks have a healthy splash of vinegar and make a surprisingly refreshing almost cleansing drink. Teas come hot or cold with inviting names similar to exotic travel destination-based novels.

Sweet & Savory Foods

Birds of a feather also like to eat together. A dainty little tea party-sized macaron can transform an ordinary day into a near Parisian escape at least for a bite or two. The pastry selection changes daily and showcases some of the Twin Cities best sweets like Glam Doll donuts and Chez Arnaud desserts. The elegant Ispahan layered raspberry macaron bursts with mouthwatering French meets Eurasian fruit flavor mix. On the savory side, fresh sandwiches and soups share the same high quality and also come from local sources.

Busy by Broder’s

Located in the heart of Broder’s trio of eating emporiums. Sparrow Café has a steady crowd and stays busy. True to the house motto, we “come together…over coffee.” Indeed, the flock has landed in this friendly neighborhood coffee shop tucked away in the southern Lake Harriet Linden Hills neighborhood of southwest Minneapolis. To accommodate, Sparrow Café recently lengthened its hours.

Atmosphere That Takes Flight

Come for the coffee (or tea or sweets or savories) and stay for the atmosphere. Independently owned, this is a whole different breed of coffee shop, bursting with personality right up to the rafters. An indoor panorama of bird murals by Broken Crow provides a lush floral backdrop. Cheery larger than life birdscapes can only delight. The décor stays in full bloom year round.

Sparrow Café makes a Twin City staycation good escape any time of year but especially during winter. A little bird told me so.
